The Meade Polaris telescope is a reflector with a 114 mm aperture and an equatorial mount. The mount’s axis is aligned with Polaris, allowing you to track the motion of the night sky along a single axis. The telescope is moved manually using the flexible slow-motion controls, and a small motor is also available as an optional accessory.
The tube features a classic Newtonian design, and the tripod is made of steel tubes. The telescope can be used to observe Saturn’s rings, Jupiter’s clouds and moons, as well as bright nebulae and star-forming regions such as the Orion Nebula. The package includes AutoStar Suite® Astronomer Edition software on DVD, featuring more than 10,000 astronomical objects, observation-planning capabilities, and star-chart printing.
