Its Ritchey-Chretien design, with hyperbolic primary and secondary mirrors, offers a wide, coma-free field of view and sharp images to the edge of the field without requiring a corrector.

The open-tube design, without a front corrector plate, adjusts to ambient temperature faster than a Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope. The BK7 mirrors help maintain focus stability, while the dielectric reflective coating has a reflectivity of 92–94%.
