Description & Specifications

The Maksutov-Cassegrain MC 127/1500 telescope is an exceptionally compact and powerful optical system for observing planets and deep-sky objects. With a 127 mm aperture, it gathers approximately twice as much light as a 90 mm telescope, offering 329x the light-gathering power of a dark-adapted eye. Despite its compact optical tube, measuring just 33 cm in length, it features a long 1540 mm focal length for exceptionally high-contrast images. It is ideal for both astronomical observing and nature and bird photography, serving as a powerful, high-performance telephoto lens. It features a built-in T-2 thread and a 1.25" holder for easy connection to DSLR cameras and astronomy cameras.

It comes with a precision mount featuring a slip clutch and worm gears on both axes for smooth tracking of celestial and terrestrial targets. Focus can be adjusted precisely by moving the primary mirror internally, providing a wide focusing range for all available accessories. Its elegant, glossy black finish makes this telescope a real gem for both amateur and advanced astronomers.

Top-Quality 127mm Maksutov-Cassegrain Optics in a Compact Tube

The Maksutov-Cassegrain optical design delivers outstanding image quality without chromatic aberration, while remaining exceptionally portable. The large 127 mm aperture gathers twice as much light as typical 90 mm models, revealing faint details in nebulae and star clusters. The long 1540 mm focal length delivers high magnification and striking contrast when viewing lunar craters and the planets of our solar system. With a tube length of just 33 cm, it’s easy to take along on any outing, dark-sky excursion, or trip. Its light-gathering power is equivalent to 329x that of the human eye, making even the deepest observations possible and bright. The sleek exterior, finished in glossy black metal, gives the instrument a distinctive presence and superior aesthetic appeal.

Internal Focusing Mechanism & T-2 Connection for Photography

Focusing is achieved via a side knob that moves the primary mirror forwards and backwards with complete smoothness. This internal mechanism offers an exceptionally wide focusing range, allowing a wide variety of diagonal mirrors and eyepieces to be used. It features a built-in T-2 thread, allowing a DSLR or mirrorless camera to be attached directly using a simple adapter ring. It is an affordable, powerful super-telephoto lens for terrestrial photography of nature, landscapes and birds from long distances. The standard 1.25" fitting ensures full compatibility with the worldwide range of astronomical filters and optical accessories. It also incorporates a 1/4" mounting thread for easy, direct attachment to standard camera tripods.

Precision Dual-Axis Mount & Ease of Use

The included precision mount enables comfortable, stable aiming from the zenith to the horizon. It features a slip clutch for quickly pointing at your target by simply nudging the tube, without having to loosen any clamps. Worm-gear slow-motion controls on both axes provide precise control when tracking moving celestial objects. It is designed to securely support optical tubes weighing up to 5 kg, without vibration or play. The package includes an optical tube, a finderscope for quickly locating objects, and the handy 80-page Telescope ABC manual. A reliable, complete solution, suitable for enthusiastic beginners as well as experienced observers of nature and the stars.
