The Sky-Watcher telescope is a reflector with a 70 mm aperture and a focal length of 500 mm. The SolarQuest™ altazimuth mount automatically locates and tracks the Sun using HelioFind™ technology and data from GPS, the local time, and the observing location.
At the touch of a button, the mount levels itself, calculates the Sun’s altitude and azimuth, and locates it. The solar sensor keeps the Sun in the eyepiece’s field of view. The mount runs on a battery or a 12V DC power supply with a positive center pin. It operates quietly and is easy to transport. The telescope is designed for observing sunspots, eclipses, details of the Sun’s surface, and transits of the inner planets.
