The Celestron StarSense Explorer DX6 SCT catadioptric telescope combines Schmidt-Cassegrain optics with StarSense Explorer technology to locate celestial objects. The app analyzes the sky through your smartphone and uses the Lost in Space (LISA) algorithm to determine where the telescope is pointing. It then displays available objects and arrows to guide its movement, while the aiming reticle turns green when the object is in the field of view.

The Schmidt-Cassegrain optical design has a short tube relative to its focal length, while the closed system protects the optics from dust and air turbulence. The Schmidt corrector plate features XLT multi-layer coatings, and focusing is achieved using the primary mirror and preloaded bearings that limit mirror shift. The altazimuth mount makes it easy to move and align the telescope with the desired celestial object.
