Description

Description

Redbreast Lustau Edition, a new addition to the Redbreast range, was introduced in the last half of 2016. This single pot still Irish whiskey was initially matured in a combination of American and European oak barrels for 9 to 12 years, before being transferred for the final year of maturation to first-fill Oloroso Sherry barrels from Bodegas Lustau.

Tasting Characteristics

  • Nose: Toasted almond, Curaçao orange peel stuffed with clove, and slowly developing notes of juicy sultana.
  • Palate: Milk chocolate and honey, cinnamon, walnut, and ripe plum.
  • Finish: Endless. The sweetness and various spices endure, while the Oloroso Sherry and Spanish Oak have the final say.

Great whiskey! A blend of Irish whiskey with barrels from Spanish Sherry wine. Very sweet with hints of citrus peel on the nose. Very full-bodied on the palate. Overall, it has an unusual sensation that you don't find in Scottish single malts. Highly recommended!
