The book Etymolexicon is a dictionary for learning English that is very different from any other dictionary you have seen in the Greek market. As a language teacher for twenty years, I have always faced the usual tendency of students to try to learn new words mimetically, like parrots, without paying attention to spelling or the common characteristics of words among themselves.
Most people treat words simply as arbitrary sounds, as self-contained words in a list, resulting in their inability to discover any logical relationships that connect them, which would facilitate a more long-term retention of concepts. Thus, with a simple alphabetical distribution, they fail to make mental connections between them. What is missing, in my opinion, is a new way of learning them, in original semantic sets, that will allow the vocabulary to be memorized forever.
The dictionary you hold in your hands has the peculiarity of analyzing words as verbal themes, so that each student can master the vocabulary through etymology and not individually, without a system. For example, verbs (along with most of their derivatives) such as expose, depose, impose, propose, etc., are analyzed, where in a very simple way the student permanently acquires the knowledge, entering the substratum of the language, avoiding the sterile and short-term memorization of words, which they will easily forget.
