The Inis board game by Matagot is a strategy game themed around Celtic history and mythology. Players vie for the title of king of the island by pursuing one of three victory conditions: leading territories with at least six opposing clans, having clans in six different territories, or occupying territories with a total of six sanctuaries.
Each round, players draft four action cards, which they use to add or move clans, explore and build, or perform special actions. Epic Tale cards inspire clans to achieve special feats, and each feat collected reduces by one the number of six required for a victory condition. Careful card selection, hand management, bluffing, and timing all influence the outcome. Conflicts are possible, but peaceful coexistence between clans is a common outcome.
