The first ancient Greek Gods PLAYMOBIL were released at the end of 2016. In June 2018, after studies and with the contribution of archaeologists and educators, the first collectible set of the twelve Olympian gods was completed. The creation of the collectible figures required long-term research and preparation to ensure the result was as representative as possible, according to historical data. In April 2019, the remaining six gods were released, completing the twelve Olympians.

Athena was the favorite daughter of Zeus. Her mother was Metis, the first wife of Zeus. Zeus, after hearing a prophecy that Metis would give birth to a child who would take his power, swallowed her while she was pregnant with Athena. A few months later, Zeus began to suffer from headaches and called Hephaestus to help him. Hephaestus opened Zeus's head, and out sprang the goddess Athena, fully armed, with a helmet and shield.
