Description

This variety is one of the most well-known old Cretan varieties that was at risk of extinction. Thanks to the care of the viticulturist Lyrarakis, it was preserved in his estate in Alagni in significant acreage, from which the eponymous wine is produced today.

Vinification: Classic white vinification, with separation of the must, static sedimentation, and fermentation at a controlled temperature of 18 - 20°C.

Characteristics:

  • Straw-yellow color.
  • Complex aromas with intensity and quality.
  • Excellent taste balance.

Pairs with: All seafood, a wide variety of cheeses, and white meats.
