The noise is tolerable, like the old impact printers. It can also be used as a desktop on the desk, without a bin for a few sheets, then you collect the pieces by hand. UPDATE After a few months and minimal use, the paper sensor is not working. So it does not pull the paper, therefore IT IS A USELESS MACHINE.
