Concentration and finesse. Le sang de la Pierre is here and proves to be undeniably one of the top Greek wines. A wine created by Christos Aivalis' son, Sotiris, from overripe Agiorgitiko harvest with very low yield per hectare, applying winemaking practices from Burgundy. The small vineyard of 14 hectares in Traganes on the unexplored side of Nemea justifies Christos Aivalis' obsession with the origin of the fruit and the expression of the terroir. The soil is gravelly, the plants have been hardened, both by the rugged terrain and by the complete lack of any fertilization. Compact red, purple color. Aromas of red forest fruits, caramel, nuts, pepper, chocolate, and coffee notes. Full-bodied, opulent mouth with tannins in harmony and balance with the acidity that does not make the increased alcohol noticeable. Long finish that, along with the other elements, suggests several years of life. Aged in Soolit French oak barrels for 14 to 16 months. It is not filtered, not stabilized.
