The AD801 digital thermometer measures temperature from the forehead without contact, at a distance of 3–5 cm, and completes the measurement in 1 second. It features a backlit LCD with a color-coded fever indicator and stores up to 32 readings. It measures body and object temperature, and the unit can be selected between °C and °F.

To take a measurement, hold the thermometer 3–5 cm from the forehead. After a significant change in room temperature, it is recommended to leave the device in the room for 15–20 minutes before use. Measuring over hair, sweat, a hat, or a scarf may affect accuracy. The device operates on 2 AAA 1.5 V batteries, which are not included, and switches off automatically after 30 seconds.
