    Cabernet Sauvignon

Chateau Branaire-Ducru, Grand Cru Classe of 1855, belongs among the great names of the Saint-Julien area. It is owned by Francois Xavier Maroteaux and managed by Jean-Dominique Videau. The Chateau offers a wonderful expression of this left bank Bordeaux terroir, with wines recognizable for their elegance, velvety texture on the palate, and consistency.

The year 2018 is characterized by superior growing conditions, with humidity in the first part of the season and ideal conditions in the second. Even flowering and significant daily temperature variations contributed to an exceptional harvest under dry weather.

Ripening is optimal and the characteristics of a great vintage are evident from the first grapes. The aromas offer complexity of ripe fruits, balanced with fresh notes. It develops intensely with aeration, with the aging in oak barrels being beautifully integrated.

The attack on the palate is round, with impressive volume and exceptionally fine tannins. The wine displays deep flesh, beautiful density, and refined elegance. The aromatic complexity, together with a wonderful acidity, accompanies the wine throughout the tasting, which concludes with a prolonged fruity finish.
