The ASTIR X Winery is located on the outskirts of the city of Kalamata, the capital of Messinia in the Peloponnese. The Peloponnese is considered the cradle of Greek wine, as it has been a land full of vineyards since ancient times. Today, it is the largest wine-growing region in Greece. From selected vineyards of this blessed land, the Winery harvests the precious fruit for its wines.
Its specialized viticulture team is the most crucial part of Astir X, as they are the people who, throughout the year, in collaboration with 88 local vine growers, monitor and take care of the proper cultivation of a total of 800 acres of vineyards. The selection of the vineyards was made with the aim of optimal performance of each grape variety in the microclimate of the region.
The winery is situated on a 14-acre site, offers 2,500 sq.m. of covered space, and houses the presses, winemakers, and stainless steel cooling tanks with a capacity of 3,000 tons. Wines suitable for aging are stored and matured under ideal conditions in the winery's cellar, inside French oak barrels of 220 liters, which are regularly renewed. In the cellar, the bottles mature and rest before traveling to the wine lovers who will enjoy them.
