The Thinkware Q850 car DVR records video at 1440P resolution at 30 fps and includes a rear camera. The 5.14 MP Sony Exmor R STARVIS sensor, WDR technology and Super Night Vision 2.0 improve image quality in daylight and low-light conditions. The 125° and 160° wide-angle views cover the road, while dewarping technology reduces distortion.

Built-in GPS provides alerts for speed cameras and traffic lights, while the ADAS systems provide alerts for forward collision avoidance, lane departure and front vehicle departure. Parking mode records incidents while the vehicle is parked and requires a hardwiring cable or OBD II power cable. At high temperatures inside the vehicle, Smart Parking Mode automatically switches to low-power mode. Wi-Fi and the Thinkware Dash Cam Link app provide access to settings and video files. The camera also supports expansion with a multi-camera system, which requires an additional Multiplexer Adaptor cable.
