The ASTIR X Winery is located on the outskirts of the city of Kalamata, the capital of Messinia in the Peloponnese. The Peloponnese is considered the cradle of Greek wine, as it is a land full of vineyards. Homer called it "Vine-covered land." Today, it is the largest viticultural region in Greece.
From selected vineyards of this blessed land, the winery obtains the precious fruit for its wines. The Astir X team of viticulturists collaborates with 88 local growers, monitoring and caring for the cultivation of 800 stremmas of vineyards, from which the quality raw material of their wines originates.
The selection of vineyards is made with the aim of optimizing the performance of each variety in the area's microclimate. The winery covers an area of 14 stremmas with 2,500 sqm of covered space, housing presses, winemakers, and stainless steel cooled tanks with a capacity of 3,000 tons.
Wines that require aging are stored and matured under ideal conditions in the winery’s cellar, inside French oak barrels of 220 liters. These are regularly renewed, while bottles mature and rest in the cellar before traveling to wine lovers.
