Fan of the franchise since the PlayStation 1 era. Since I grew up with it, I decided to pre-order it and patiently wait until the physical version arrived in my hands. So let’s begin:

    1) Starting with the PS1 version: The controls are just as instant, just as good, and of course there isn’t a trace of FPS drop.

    2) There are options to play with filters (CRT - non CRT - widescreen etc.) as well as some enhancements.

    3) There are "codes" to make your life easier, since we all know how difficult the game is: infinite lives, all abilities from the start, and unlocking many things. WARNING! If you turn this on, you will lose the ability to earn achievements in your save file.

    4) The title offers different versions of the game inside: Game Boy, Game Boy Advance, PS1, Atari Jaguar, MS DOS (with extra DLCs included, exactly as they were released back then), and a prototype stage that was released as a test.

    5) This anniversary edition comes with reusable Rayman stickers, 3 cart postals, a double-sided cover, and a double-sided poster.

Now let’s move on to the negatives, which is why it loses the star, since I was very excited for this game as it was also the introductory title for many on PS1, since the console launched with it.

    1) THE SOUNDTRACKS - OSTs ARE NOT THE SAME
Due, unfortunately, to the death of one of the two composers and, sadly, the main composer of the game, Ubisoft decided to hand the game over to the second composer and have new pieces written. No one will ever say that the music in the new version is bad, not at all. However, a game like this, being 2D and aiming at nostalgia, the songs are something that bothered me a lot, and probably most people from what I see on the internet, negatively. There is a way to change it and put the old songs into the game files and enjoy it like before, however this option exists only in the Steam/PC version.

    2) Since I also played the MS DOS version of the game because I’m going for the platinum, I noticed some FPS drops and a "screech" in the sound when a level’s song ends and it tries to continue the loop and play it again from the beginning.

In conclusion, it is a very nice anniversary edition for a beloved game. It has its negatives, yes, but it remains fair, especially for the money they ask. I hope I helped.
