The wonderful suite by Ravel "Ma mère l'Oye" (Mother Goose) was originally composed between 1908 and 1910 for piano four hands. Later, it was completed with additional movements and arranged. Joachim Linckelmann's arrangement for wind quartet brilliantly captures the soundscape of Ravel with his characteristic use of wind instruments. The suite includes the pieces:
- Pavane de la Belle au bois dormant (Pavane for Sleeping Beauty)
- Petit poucet (Little Tom Thumb)
- Laideronnette, impératrice des pagodes (Laideronnette, Empress of the Pagodas)
- Les entretiens de la belle et de la bête (The Conversation of Beauty and the Beast)
- Le jardin féerique (The Fairy Garden)
This first arrangement of Ravel's masterpiece will quickly find its place in concert halls!
