Blek, the Blond Giant of comics, was created by the EsseGesse team in 1954. Together with the always hungry but brilliant Professor Mystery, and the young Roddy, they fight against the English conquerors for the liberation of their homeland, America, during the American Revolution (1775-1783).
In Italy, France, and Serbia, he has been one of the most beloved comic heroes for entire decades. Likewise, in our country, from his first appearance in 1969 by Stelios Anemodouras, he quickly reached hundreds of thousands of sales on a weekly basis — an extraordinary figure for the time.
A magazine that managed to escape censorship during the Junta because of its American protagonist, while its storyline speaks about the struggle for freedom, with a strong resistance and anti-colonial theme.
