This is my first mechanical keyboard. I’ve used one only a few times in stores and at a friend’s place.
I searched quite a bit on YouTube, in conversations with AI, on websites, and I ended up quite easily with this keyboard as soon as I read its features.

- The brown switches, without experience with others, are wonderful. There is a very slight tactile feel (that is, the click you feel) that you have to try to notice, but it is enough. From the videos I watched, I expected it to be much more pronounced, and fortunately it isn’t.
- I feel some resistance in the keys throughout the press, which some gamers might not want. I don’t feel them as heavy, but I imagine the red switches, which are lighter, would be a better choice for speed or long hours of use(?). It doesn’t bother me at all; on the contrary, it gives a sense of quality and the key return is very fast.
- The sound is sweet and deep, and I can’t get enough of hearing it. Together with the feel of the keys, it’s the first time I’m typing and actually enjoying it.
- You can change every keycap and switch, so you can put whatever you want later. It also comes with extra switches and keycaps for Windows as well as the tool to remove all of these.
- The letters won’t wear off and the plastic won’t get shiny over the years because of the materials.
- It works on Mac and Windows.
- It is plastic, weighs around 800g, and in a bend test it has minimal flex that requires force to achieve.
- It is tall; you may need a wrist rest, and it also has 2 positions to raise it on the back side.
- It doesn’t slip at all on glossy wood.
- Its LED lighting is not a carnival, even if you try. It is hidden between the keys and feels like it comes from a great depth. It also has two subtle strips on the sides. The only negative is that on some keys the light passing through the letters is not perfectly uniform. It doesn’t bother me at all, it’s not intense, but if you want to notice it, you will.
- It comes with funky stickers that I would never stick anywhere, but they are wonderful.
- You don’t need any software to use it and change its settings. It has many shortcuts on the keyboard for various functions and a browser-based program found on Keychron’s website; that is the highlight of it. The negative is that Firefox is not supported.
- Polling rate is 8000Hz; I don’t care, but it’s there.
- The software is very nice, simple, and fast. It has many functions such as:
- Type test - Produces text with time and at the end gives you various statistics to improve.
- Help center - Information for everything.
- AI - It is slightly slow, but the two times I needed it, it gave me valuable help.
- Key Test - You can see whether all the buttons work.
- Firmware update
- Change polling rate and debounce.
- Endless macro options.
- You can bind buttons so they directly run programs or open websites.
- Backlight - You can do whatever you want, exactly as you imagine, with the keyboard lighting.
- Snap Action - You change the way the keyboard behaves when you press two buttons at the same time.
- Key Map - Here you change what function each key has.
- From what I saw, you can also load profiles from other people with their own settings. I haven’t tried it yet, but it might be a great feature that could prove useful.
- Something I usually don’t pay attention to, but for this money it impressed me, is the unboxing. Externally it has an excellent-quality matte paper sleeve with shiny gold letters. Inside there is a hard black matte box with an iridescent company logo, and when you open it everything is neatly arranged and there is a large colorful quick guide with keyboard shortcuts. The whole box around it has gray high-quality foam. I felt like I was unboxing my RTX 5070 Ti again, only this costs just 50€-60€.

Experienced users won’t need this review, as they will know better than me what the more expensive models offer in addition.

I recommend it as a first mechanical keyboard to everyone. Just make sure it’s the 8K. The cheaper one has some shortcomings compared to this one.

Amazing keyboard with open source firmware. Also, even though I bought it with brown switches, it's the quietest brown switch keyboard in the office!!
