Act as a mighty Valkyrie to repel the forces of the underworld from invading the world of Asgard. In BPM, all your actions as well as the actions of your enemies are synchronized with the beat of the music. The enemies perform a sequence of attacks reminiscent of dancing in an epic rock opera. BPM is inspired by the retro shooters of the '90s. It is fast, frantic, and rhythmic. You can double jump, dash, rocket jump, and bunny hop to avoid your opponents.

The goal is to reach the end of the randomly generated rooms, collecting different weapons, abilities, and items each time you play. These weapons and abilities can significantly change the way you play, making each game unique. You must defeat 7 bosses to reach the final boss. Each boss moves and attacks in a unique way that you need to learn to exploit to succeed. Some attacks require jumping over lava patches, others involve quickly dodging projectiles, and some require timing your movements to the rhythm.
