Review this product
  • I have it for winter adventures where it's certain we'll get rain.
I've used it on a 5-day trip where for 2 days it was ONLY rain and mud. Not a single drop got through. It has 2 huge vents that help you regulate the heat, especially if you ride aggressively.
It's not a jacket in the sense that it has lining, etc. It's a waterproof shell that keeps quite a bit of warmth but definitely needs other layers underneath.
The size is true to large, since Klim uses American sizing.
It has its own D3O protectors, but I removed them to wear it with a chest protector and it was fine. I ended up wearing it with 3-4 layers in the big cold and I wasn't like an onion. It has room where it should.
Expensive, yes, but a proper piece of gear. You could say, for example, that for the same money you get the X that has 40 linings and 60 vents. Sure, okay, but it might weigh 8 times as much as this. The good thing about this one is that it gives you tremendous flexibility. If you want, you fold it up and put it in the bag—it doesn't take up much space.
