The noise is typical (like an air conditioner on medium setting) for machines of this type and whether it bothers you or not is subjective. I can't sleep in the bedroom with it on, my girlfriend has no problem. I also put a rug underneath it and it somewhat reduced the noise. The tank, although small, does not fill up very quickly - it depends on the usage of course (if you expect to empty it once a week then yes, it fills up quickly). In any case, you can feel the change in the atmosphere both due to the dehumidification and the ionizer. What was a failure was the handle it has for lifting it (it's carved into the body like a grip). It is so uncomfortable that it is very hard to trust lifting it with one hand and you end up using your other hand as well so it doesn't slip.
