Microfibers are very fine artificially created fibers, usually made from polyester or polyamide. They are approximately 2 times thinner than silk fiber, 3 times thinner than cotton fiber, 8 times thinner than wool, and 100 times thinner than human hair. Products made from microfibers are very soft to the touch and lightweight. The fabrics have a lovely drape. Microfibers are smaller than 1.0 denier.
The quilt is very lightweight, soft, and hugs the body. During the summer months, it provides coolness and comfort, while in winter it functions as a very good insulator without giving a chilly sensation. It is easy to use as it can be washed in the washing machine.
