Description

The DJI Osmo 360 Action Camera offers a unique shooting experience with a 360° field of view, providing the ability to record in impressive 8K resolution. This combination allows for capturing details and scenes with exceptional accuracy, making it ideal for professional use and the creation of high-quality content.

1 inch 360° imaging

Specifically designed for 360° capture, the brand new square HDR image sensor maintains the same 360° field of view as a traditional 1-inch sensor [1], while increasing sensor utilization by 25%. This results in excellent image quality and lower power consumption, all in an ultra-compact and lightweight camera body.

8K 360° Video in Native Resolution

The Osmo 360 is DJI's [4] first camera to offer native 8K 360° video with large 2.4 μm pixels. With an impressive dynamic range of 13.5 stops, it captures sharp, vivid footage even in high-contrast scenes, such as night cities or during sunrise and sunset. And with ultra-high-spec 360° video up to 8K/50fps, the Osmo 360 sets a new standard for 360° cameras.

4K/100fps 360° video with high frame rate

Capture every second with stunning detail thanks to the Osmo 360's 360° 4K/100fps high frame rate video. Enjoy exceptionally smooth, fluid images and unlock up to 4x slow motion to make those fleeting, impressive moments last even longer.

Amazing performance in low light conditions

The innovative square sensor design allows for dual 360° 1-inch image fields, while the large f/1.9 aperture dramatically increases light intake. Even in low-light conditions, you will capture sharp, detailed videos with top-level quality. Activate SuperNight mode to reveal every shade of the night and bring exciting nighttime scenes to life.

120MP 360° Photography

Freeze the real world in 360° with a single tap. The Osmo 360 allows you to capture ultra-clear 360° photos with a resolution of up to 120 megapixels (16K), revealing incredibly sharp details and a wide field of view. Step into every shot and experience true immersion like never before.

  • We're talking about a different experience, as one can see from the general 360 reviews. I am not in a position to compare based on personal experience since I don't have another Insta or GoPro, as I have only seen comparisons on YouTube!

I went with DJI because I already have other cameras from them and the footage matches in color, plus the price at 472 for the Adventure version is a temptation. It uses the same batteries as the Action 6, so someone who has both will have 6 batteries, or they can also go for the standard version and get an invisible stick!

Let's talk about the camera itself:
For its first 360, DJI has made a good entry, having the largest sensor among the competition at 1 inch, offering very good and natural color accuracy. The camera (360s in general) gives you the ability with one shot to have multiple angles, as in editing you can easily have a shot on yourself or on an object/person using tracking, and at the same time focus on a landscape or something you didn't see while filming.
The "stitching" is quite good, definitely not perfect—if you shoot with the camera close to your side, you'll see distortion. I don't know if Insta has solved this on their models!
As I said, my choice was influenced not only by the price but also by the fact that I already have other cameras from the company. Personally, I prefer the more natural color philosophy that DJI offers. Although Insta achieves more impressive results from the start and has the important feature of lens swapping in case you break them, I obviously can't ignore that it's ahead as the quintessential 360 brand with experience and now with its 5th generation model! I didn't even consider the GoPro Max2 because, firstly, I'm not such an extreme user to take advantage of its greater durability and, according to many, the top stabilization system, and secondly, overall, the once synonymous with action cameras brand has fallen quite behind, especially in low light conditions, to the point where you don't even get usable footage!

In summary, the 360, like the Nano, is a supplementary camera for shots. Yes, compared to the small one, it gives you the ability to make it your main camera by shooting with just one sensor and with very good results, in fact!

    What would I change?
    1) Ideally, definitely the ability to change lenses yourself, since with them sticking out like an egg and being exposed, there's a serious chance in a fall or a careless moment that you'll break them.
    2) Bigger battery, although the compatibility is convenient, I would like more autonomy, though that doesn't mean the current one isn't enough for your shots, especially if you use it as a supplement!
    3) The existence of official ND filters and an underwater case. From what I've read, underwater cases have significant distortion, especially in stitching, and that's probably why nothing official has been released. Something similar probably happens with ND filters; I don't know if third-party manufacturers have solved these issues, but both would be useful, especially ND filters for better control of shutter speed and white balance.
    4) This doesn't only concern this camera, but the software in general. They say Mimo has made leaps, but it still lags behind in ease of use compared to Insta's software, which is more user-friendly apart from its features!
I think with the hardware DJI has, it will work wonders

Very good image for 360, the photos were always satisfactory. You edit your clips with your phone. The great thing is that it captures everything and you make your shot afterwards. This requires the following: you need to have multiple shots in mind that are done with one movement since it records all around. In general, it is something new in shooting, I recommend you try it, you will be 100% satisfied.
