Centine got its name from the arches at the entrances of so many rustic Italian homes scattered throughout the countryside. Symbolically, Centine is considered the gateway to Banfi wines. The cypress-lined winding road depicted on the label leads to the estate's 12th-century Castello.
Centine Red is the perfect marriage of Tuscan tradition with international varieties. The grapes are vinified with a short maceration for 7 days and then aged for a short period in French oak barrels, followed by moderate bottle aging.
On the nose, an enticing bouquet of ripe berries and cherry is expressed, while on the palate, hints of vanilla and fresh herbs appear. A rounded wine with soft tannins and elegant acidity, it is a particularly versatile wine, suitable both for gastronomic interest and as a simple, informal aperitif.
