Especially for Android users, the Roam2 offers a highly interesting option that only the Move2 also offers (Roam and Move do NOT offer this):
Sonos is traditionally more geared towards users who more or less stream "everything." For Apple users, there is also the option to stream locally stored content (mp3 or whatever file format) directly from the device (e.g., smartphone, tablet, laptop) via the Apple Music app (I can't remember what it's called) to any Sonos speaker.
This is not possible with Android and even less so with Windows. For Android, I did find an app that simulates this Apple app, and it works, but with Roam2 and Move2 (not with any others), you can stream your local content directly to this speaker via Bluetooth and – something that was not possible with Sonos before – the music played in via Bluetooth can be distributed directly over the entire Sonos system via WiFi. That means each of these speakers, e.g., in the guest room, can be used by anyone just like a regular Bluetooth speaker, even completely without the Sonos app. But via the Sonos app, Roam2 and Move2 can serve as a Bluetooth base for the entire system with potentially dozens of speakers (which then do not have to have this special function themselves, because once fed in via Bluetooth, it is then distributed via WiFi within the Sonos system).
That was the decisive reason for me almost 2 years ago to choose Sonos for the first time in a new building. Previously, the restriction apparently deliberately created by the manufacturer for Android and Windows users was unacceptable to me.
Specifically about the Roam2, it should be said that when placed in a corner, it can do surprisingly much more than in open space. The sound is top-notch, but it's small. Functionally, it can do exactly the same as the Move2, and it can also be paired with another Roam2 to form a stereo pair. For bedrooms, dining rooms, guest rooms, bathrooms (it is quite water and moisture resistant according to the manufacturer's description) it is top, and even in larger rooms it is suitable for background music. I have been using 2 of them for a year now and, due to my very positive user experience, I ordered 4 more with this order. At a bargain price of €110 each instead of the usual around €190, that's absolutely fine for the quality. P.S. I also got the big current subwoofer (elsewhere at a top price of €599 during Black Week) and I'm happy to report on it upon request. However, it will only be put into operation in February.

Das war vor knapp 2 Jahren der für mich entscheidende Grund, mich überhaupt erstmals in einem neuen Gebäude komplett für Sonos zu entscheiden. Vorher war die vom Hersteller offenbar bewusst erzeugte Einschränkung für Android- und Windows- Nutzer für mich nicht hinnehmbar.

Ich nutze 2 davon seit nunmehr einem Jahr und bei dieser Bestellung hier hatte ich auf Grund meiner sehr positiven Nutzererfahrung nochmal 4 bestellt. Bei einem Schnapp von 110 € pro Stück statt normal rund 190 € ist das ja auch bei der Qualität völlig ok. P.S. den grossen aktuellen Subwoofer hab ich auch (anderswo zum Top Preis von 599 € während der Blackweek) geholt und berichte auf Anfrage gern davon. Der geht aber erst im Februar in Betrieb.
everything is good and everything is nice, what I miss is the automatic connection with the bluetooth device (e.g. mobile phone). it might be a settings issue but as much as I have looked into it, there doesn't seem to be a problem there.

όλα καλά και όλα ωραία αυτό που μου λείπει είναι η αυτόματης σύνδεση με τη συσκευή bluetooth (πχ κινητό). ενδεχομένως είναι πρόβλημα των ρυθμίσεων αλλά όσο το έχω ψάξει δεν φαίνεται να υπάρχει εκεί πρόβλημα.

Quality speaker. Good bass for its size. The sound is quality but doesn't fill the room. Connects relatively easily with both Bluetooth and wifi. I also have another Sonos speaker. They are expensive but there are offers. Good offers. It just requires patience.

As for the speaker itself, it is a real all-rounder.
Especially for Android users, the Roam2 offers a highly interesting option that only the Move2 also offers (Roam and Move do NOT offer this):
Sonos is traditionally more geared towards users who more or less stream "everything." For Apple users, there is also the option to stream locally stored content (mp3 or whatever file format) directly from the device (e.g., smartphone, tablet, laptop) via the Apple Music app (I can't remember what it's called) to any Sonos speaker.
This is not possible with Android and even less so with Windows. For Android, I did find an app that simulates this Apple app, and it works, but with Roam2 and Move2 (not with any others), you can stream your local content directly to this speaker via Bluetooth and – something that was not possible with Sonos before – the music played in via Bluetooth can be distributed directly over the entire Sonos system via WiFi. That means each of these speakers, e.g., in the guest room, can be used by anyone just like a regular Bluetooth speaker, even completely without the Sonos app. But via the Sonos app, Roam2 and Move2 can serve as a Bluetooth base for the entire system with potentially dozens of speakers (which then do not have to have this special function themselves, because once fed in via Bluetooth, it is then distributed via WiFi within the Sonos system).
That was the decisive reason for me almost 2 years ago to choose Sonos for the first time in a new building. Previously, the restriction apparently deliberately created by the manufacturer for Android and Windows users was unacceptable to me.
Specifically about the Roam2, it should be said that when placed in a corner, it can do surprisingly much more than in open space. The sound is top-notch, but it's small. Functionally, it can do exactly the same as the Move2, and it can also be paired with another Roam2 to form a stereo pair. For bedrooms, dining rooms, guest rooms, bathrooms (it is quite water and moisture resistant according to the manufacturer's description) it is top, and even in larger rooms it is suitable for background music. I have been using 2 of them for a year now and, due to my very positive user experience, I ordered 4 more with this order. At a bargain price of €110 each instead of the usual around €190, that's absolutely fine for the quality. P.S. I also got the big current subwoofer (elsewhere at a top price of €599 during Black Week) and I'm happy to report on it upon request. However, it will only be put into operation in February.

Zum Lautsprecher selbst ist zu sagen, er ist ein wahrer Tausendsassa.
Insbesondere für Android Nutzer bietet die Roam2 eine hochinteressante Option, die sonst nur noch die Move2 bietet (Roam und Move bieten diese NICHT):
Sonos ist traditionell eher auf Nutzer ausgelegt, die mehr oder weniger "alles" streamen. Für Android habe ich zwar eine App gefunden, die diese Apple App simuliert, und es geht damit, aber mit Roam2 und Move2 (mit allen anderen nicht) kann man direkt über Bluetooth seine lokalen Inhalte auf diesen Lautsprecher streamen und - das gab es bisher so nicht bei Sonos - die so über Bluetooth eingespielte Musik direkt auf dem gesamten Sonos SStem über WiFi weiterverteilen. Dh jeder dieser Lautsprecher, z. B. im Gästezimmer, kann von jedem ganz normal wie ein normaler Allerwelts Bluetooth Speaker genutzt werden, auch völlig ohne Sonos App. Aber über die Sonos App können Roam2 und Move2 als Bluetooth Basis für das gesamte System mit ggf. zig Lautsprechern (die dann nicht über diese spezielle Funktion verfügen müssen, weil ja, einmal über Bluetooth eingespeist, dann über WiFi innerhalb des Sonos - Systems weiterverteilt wird) dienen.
Das war vor knapp 2 Jahren der für mich entscheidende Grund, mich überhaupt erstmals in einem neuen Gebäude komplett für Sonos zu entscheiden. Vorher war die vom Hersteller offenbar bewusst erzeugte Einschränkung für Android- und Windows- Nutzer für mich nicht hinnehmbar.
Speziell zur Roam2 ist zu sagen, dass sie in einer Ecke plaziert nochmal erstaunlich deutlich mehr kann als in freiem Raum. Der Klang ist top, aber sie ist halt klein. Sie kann funktionell genau dasselbe wie die Move2, kann auch mit einer anderen Roam2 zu einem Stereopaar gepaart werden. Für Schlafzimmer, Esszimmer, Gästezimmer, Bad (sie ist ziemlich wasser- und feuchtedicht gem. Herstellerbeschreibung) ist sie top und selbst in grösseren Räumen für Hintergrundmusik geeignet. Ich nutze 2 davon seit nunmehr einem Jahr und bei dieser Bestellung hier hatte ich auf Grund meiner sehr positiven Nutzererfahrung nochmal 4 bestellt. Bei einem Schnapp von 110 € pro Stück statt normal rund 190 € ist das ja auch bei der Qualität völlig ok. P.S. den grossen aktuellen Subwoofer hab ich auch (anderswo zum Top Preis von 599 € während der Blackweek) geholt und berichte auf Anfrage gern davon. Der geht aber erst im Februar in Betrieb.
everything is good and everything is nice, what I miss is the automatic connection with the bluetooth device (e.g. mobile phone). it might be a settings issue but as much as I have looked into it, there doesn't seem to be a problem there.
