Comparison with the previous model

Radeon RX 9060 XT vs Radeon RX 7600 XT

  • Rasterization: The RX 9060 XT is significantly faster than the RX 7600 XT in traditional performance (rasterization). According to AMD's claims, the 16GB version of the RX 9060 XT is up to 46% faster than the RX 7600 XT at 1440p Ultra settings, while the 8GB version of the RX 9060 XT is up to 55% faster than the RX 7600 at 1080p Ultra.

  • Ray Tracing: The 3rd generation Ray Accelerators in RDNA 4 offer significantly improved Ray Tracing performance compared to the 2nd generation in RDNA 3, closing the gap with NVIDIA in this area.

  • AI Accelerators: The improved AI accelerators in the RX 9060 XT contribute to better performance for technologies such as FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) 4 and other AI-powered features.

  • Memory: While both cards offer 16GB of GDDR6 memory (although the RX 9060 XT is also available in an 8GB version), the RX 9060 XT has faster memory at 20 Gbps compared to the 18 Gbps of the RX 7600 XT. This provides higher memory bandwidth, which translates to better performance, especially at higher resolutions or with heavy textures.
  • Connectivity: The RX 9060 XT supports PCI Express 5.0, offering greater bandwidth with compatible motherboards, making it more "future-proof" compared to the PCIe 4.0 of the RX 7600 XT. It also upgrades the DisplayPort and HDMI standards.

  • Designed for ultra-fast gaming, powered by AMD RDNA 4

Experience the next level of 1440p gaming performance with AMD Radeon™ RX 9060 XT graphics cards. Powered by the groundbreaking RDNA™ 4 architecture with unified compute units featuring advanced raytracing and AI accelerators, support for AMD FidelityFX™ Super Resolution 4 technology, and AMD HYPR-RX for ultra-smooth, ultra-fast gameplay that makes every game count.

    FidelityFX

FidelityFX™ Super Resolution 4 (FSR 4) technology is available to gamers, promising stunning performance and unparalleled graphics quality through a new upscaling engine (AI Upscaling) based on Machine Learning (ML) for managing Super Resolution. It is combined with enhanced frame generation techniques (AMD Fluid Motion Frames 2) and anti-lag (Radeon™ Anti-Lag 2). Thanks to these features, the new Radeon™ RX 9000 Series graphics cards promise smooth, uncompromising gameplay and unprecedented levels of realism in the latest photorealistic games at resolutions up to 4K, while offering higher performance per watt compared to the previous generation.

GPU AMD Radeon™ RX 9060 XT

Based on AMD's new "RDNA™ 4" architecture, the Radeon™ RX 9060 XT GPU features 32x Compute Units, 32x Ray Accelerators, 64x AI Accelerators, and 2,048x Stream Processors, while offering 32 MB Infinity Cache™.

    Powerful AI Enhanced Visuals

Enjoy gaming like never before with immersive, realistic graphics powered by next-generation ray tracing, enhanced with AMD FidelityFX™ Super Resolution 4 ML-powered upscaling and increased streaming clarity through the Enhanced Media Engine.

    3rd generation hardware-accelerated Ray Tracing

The new AMD Radeon™ RX 9000 series graphics cards feature specialized hardware for accelerating ray tracing technology, called the Ray Accelerator. More specifically, each compute unit (CU) includes a 3rd generation ray tracing acceleration unit, which achieves significantly higher performance per compute unit (CU) compared to the previous generation of the company's graphics cards.

    3rd Generation AMD Infinity Cache™

The 4th generation AMD RDNA™ architecture is more efficient and effective thanks to the innovative 3rd generation AMD Infinity Cache™ memory architecture. This is a new level of cache, accessible by all elements of the graphics core for increased bandwidth and reduced latency. The 3rd generation Infinity Cache™ in Radeon™ RX 9000 Series GPUs has a size of 64MB and reaches up to 96MB (depending on the model). It essentially acts as a "bandwidth amplifier" for faster access to memory data and overall increased gaming performance.

2nd Generation AMD Radiance Display™ Engine

The 2nd generation AMD Radiance Display™ engine combined with DisplayPort™ 2.1a technology offers 12-bit HDR and full coverage of the REC2020 color space (68 billion colors) for incredible color accuracy at resolutions up to 8K with a refresh rate up to 165Hz. Of course, HDMI™ 2.1 connections are also supported.

    HYPR-RX

Maximize performance by utilizing the full set of HYPR-RX features (e.g. AMD Radeon™ Anti-Lag 2, AMD Fluid Motion Frames 2, AMD Radeon™ Super Resolution, AMD Radeon™ Boost, AMD FidelityFX™ Super Resolution 4) with a single click from the AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition™. HYPR-RX automatically enables and configures the above features so you can enjoy significantly enhanced performance. Choose HYPR-RX Eco for a smooth gaming experience with reduced power consumption.

I bought it for €396 and as soon as I bought it the price went up to €500. If you find it close to the suggested retail price, I highly recommend it! For €500 it’s not worth it. I upgraded from a 3060ti and just from the VRAM I’ve been saved. It’s a pretty honest card that runs everything at 1440p, if not on ultra then definitely on high. It doesn’t heat up at all and the OC BIOS gives an extra boost to performance. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is the AI technologies, which despite improvements over previous generations, AMD is still far behind NVIDIA.
