The D1 mini board is a miniature wireless microcontroller development board based on 802.11 (WiFi). It transforms the very popular ESP8266 wireless microcontroller into a complete development board. Programming the D1 mini is just as simple as programming any other Arduino-based microcontroller, as the module includes a built-in microUSB port, allowing direct programming from the Arduino IDE without additional hardware.
