The non-absorbable surgical suture POLYESTER is used for holding in contact and approximating soft tissues, even in cardiovascular, neurological, and ophthalmic surgeries.
The application of the non-absorbable surgical suture POLYESTER initially causes a slight inflammatory reaction of the tissues, characteristic of the reaction to a foreign body, which is followed by the gradual formation of a connective tissue capsule around the suture.
The POLYESTER sutures are non-absorbable and do not experience loss of strength due to hydrolysis in vivo.
