PURE TUNG OIL is a pure, natural oil that has been used for centuries for the care of wooden surfaces. Tung oil is a drying oil derived from pressing the seed of the tung tree. It hardens – polymerizes upon exposure to air, creating a transparent finish with a deep, almost wet appearance. It provides a hard matte finish with long-lasting durability. It is highly resistant to water, alcohol, and food acids. It is suitable for both interior and exterior use.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Surface preparation: Surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from grease, dust, dirt, and old paint residues.

PURE TUNG OIL is ready for use and can be applied with a brush or clean cloth. To facilitate application, you can dilute the first coat with up to 50% white spirit. Always wipe off excess material with a clean cloth 30 minutes after application.

Apply the second coat with a 30% dilution, 24 hours after the first. Wipe off excess material again with a clean cloth. Apply two more coats, with light dilution and then without dilution. Apply more undiluted coats for exterior surfaces or very porous woods. For best results, lightly sand with extra fine steel wool after each application.

Allow PURE TUNG OIL to dry fully for 4 days before using the surface.

YIELD: 10 – 14m²/L per coat depending on the absorbency of the wood.
