  • To be honest, I didn't want this sharpening system (GSS), but the Benchstone Knife Sharpener from Work Sharp. It functions similarly, but this specific one is considerably more expensive without any particular reason. How I ended up with this is a painful story, and that's why I recommend always checking the store reviews on Skroutz.

From my limited experience as a beginner in sharpening, I can say the following:
    1) The cheap knife that I sharpened a few times (for testing) showed noticeable improvement in cutting.
    2) The ceramic rod, which is missing in one of the photos, is very convenient for travel or camping. It also works well for sharpening serrated blades like bread knives. However, the flat ceramic plate of the Benchstone is better because you don't risk going off the edge.
    3) If you don't want potential scratches on the blade from the "guides" at 17 and 20 degrees, you can put a little tape at the contact point.
    4) It doesn't have a strop, only in the upgrade kit, which costs quite a bit. The upgrade significantly increases the cost to the point where it may be more beneficial to get the Precision Adjust model anyway.

Overall, it gets the job done, but it is an older model, so it might be worth considering another implementation either from Work Sharp or another company.
