The Alderac Cascadia Junior board game is a strategy game for 2–4 players, in which players create their own map by combining habitat tiles and animals. They match habitats to form corridors and groups of three wildlife icons on adjacent tiles, earning points and observation tokens. The game encourages pattern recognition, set collection and simple addition, while introducing bears, hawks, elk, salmon and foxes.
Players place their observation tokens on their personal panorama board. At the end, they reveal the tokens to count the pinecones they have collected; the player with the most wins. Wildlife scoring cards are included for advanced play, with more complex patterns for each animal group.
