Castello Banfi was among the seven historic houses that claimed the traditional roots of Piedmont for the production of Italian sparkling wine and in 1990 showcased their first project, Spumante Metodo Classico. In 2008, the Alta Langa DOCG designation was finally acquired.
All grapes are hand-picked and then undergo winemaking using the classic champagne method. The first fermentation takes place in tanks and the second in the bottle with the lees for at least 30 months.
It has an elegant straw-yellow color with persistent bubbles and a rich aromatic bouquet characterized by citrus peels, yeast, and vanilla. On the palate, it is elegant and harmonious, finishing with a fresh and salty aftertaste.
