THE BOYS OF TOMEN RETURN WITH ANOTHER ADDICTIVE LOVE STORY
Joey Lynch has spent a lifetime picking up the pieces of his family that is at risk of falling apart. When his older brother Darren leaves town, Joey suddenly has to take on the role of protector and care for his younger siblings and their mother. As he enters adolescence, he struggles with the sense of duty towards his family while dangerously balancing close to a life of addiction that threatens to consume him completely. The only light in his darkness is a classmate. A girl who happens to be the daughter of his boss.
Aoife Molloy never had trouble expressing herself. Her lively and confident nature never led her astray. Until the first day of high school, when she collides with a hot-tempered boy who immediately piques her curiosity. A boy who works for her father. She knows it's a bad idea to get involved with him, but her interest grows day by day.
As a complicated friendship begins to form between them, Aoife tries to unravel Joey Lynch's secrets - while he desperately struggles to keep her away.

My heart was pounding like crazy, every inch of my body was battered and bruised, and although I knew my mother was out there defenseless, God knows I didn't have the courage to endure another round with this monster she called her husband.

Not when he had pinned me down so easily tonight. I swallowed the blood running down my throat, turned my head to the side, and considered my options.

To fight. To die. To run away. To die. To tell. To die. To hide. To die.

To die. To die. After contemplating for a long time the idea of slitting my wrists with a knife, I closed my eyes and tensed every muscle in my body so hard that I began to tremble all over from the strain.

Don't do it, my boy. It's not your turn yet. Don't give him the satisfaction of losing you. Think of the others.

Desperately trying to drive the temptation from my mind, I held my breath and focused on the reasons why I couldn't leave this house. The reasons why I had to stay.

Review this product
  • Paper quality
  • Was it easy to read?
  • Was it interesting enough?
  • I liked the writing style
  • I would read a book by the same author
  • I would recommend it for reading
  • ▪️Spice level: 3/5
⚠️Trigger warnings: physical and verbal abuse, addiction, suicide attempt, psychological trauma, substance use
▫️A few words about the book: "Saving 6 - Removal" is the 3rd book in the Boys of Tommen series that tells us the story of the characters Joey, Shannon's brother, and Aoife, his girlfriend. The story starts chronologically before Darren's brother leaves the family, so you understand that we also see, to some extent, how Shannon grew up.
▪️Book style/writing: I won't lie, I have loved the author's writing! She builds the characters slowly, as in the first two books, with intense emotional dialogues and realistic scenes. But don't worry, it won't tire you because of its length; on the contrary, it will make you look forward to the next one.
▫️Why I loved it: After finishing the first two books, I didn't expect to get so attached again to the other characters! But that was a big mistake, as Joey's story is even more shocking and will definitely leave you speechless! And Aoife's support in his life will truly move you!
▪️Why you should read it: If you've already loved the Boys of Tommen series from the first two books, you really have no reason not to continue the story! You will learn even more facts about the family, while you will also start to get into the mood of what was happening at the same time with the other characters in the group.

    5/5 and more

The heartbreaking story of two kids, 16 and 17 years old, whose lives couldn't be more different. This is the second and final book (I hope not) in their love story where everything falls apart, chaos ensues, and then healing finally begins.

Shannon. Everything in her life has become like a hurricane after the first book. School, family issues, her need for love, and her own love story with Johnny. This is the only thing that matters and helps her get through the everyday life.

Johnny. His career along with everything he has worked so hard for over the years is in great danger. With his injury, the academy watching his every move, and the events happening in Shannon's life, he must find the strength to overcome it all.

The second part of the duology literally broke my heart. I cried maybe 70% of the book, and this story is now forever written in my heart. Especially that scene with Shannon and her siblings literally shattered me. I will never understand how these things happen to so many kids. I hope everyone reads this duology from the perspective of finding what truly matters in our lives and that these things are real for so many families. Although the second book was a bit long for my taste, I understand why. Please read this, it will be worth your time, I promise!
