With algorithms inherited from the Z9 and deep learning technology, the Nikon Z5 II incorporates advanced Subject Detection for nine different types, such as people, animals, bicycles, airplanes, and more. The popular Bird Detection feature is also included, offering high focusing accuracy.
In Auto-Area AF mode, the camera automatically detects the subject, focuses, and tracks it, ensuring clear and sharp shots even when the subject moves within the frame.

The Nikon Z5 II is not limited to photography — its video capabilities have been significantly enhanced. It now supports UHD 4K video recording at up to 60 frames per second and Full HD at up to 120 frames per second, while offering an extended recording time of up to two hours. It also includes a video timer, built-in Electronic Vibration Reduction, and the ability to store files either on the camera’s memory cards or to an external recorder via HDMI.
The time-lapse creation function is built-in and allows the production of final UHD 4K video directly from the camera.

The Z5 II also includes a Product Review mode and is compatible with UAC/UAV for live streaming via the web. In addition, it now supports internal 10-bit video recording with Nikon N-Log LUT profile, as well as four new RED LUTs for more flexible color grading.

The NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/4 S lens covers a useful range of focal lengths, from wide-angle to portrait, offering a versatile zoom lens for various shots. The constant maximum aperture of f/4 provides consistent exposure throughout the zoom range, while also allowing the lens to be more compact and lightweight compared to f/2.8 zoom lenses. In its optical design, a unique aspherical extra-low dispersion element, combined with three additional aspherical elements, are used to reduce chromatic aberrations and distortions across the zoom range, ensuring high image sharpness and clarity. Additionally, Nano Crystal and Super Integrated Coating help control reflections and ghosting, offering better contrast and color performance in bright and high-contrast lighting conditions.

The lens is equipped with a stepping motor, which provides fast, quiet, and accurate autofocus performance, while allowing full manual focus adjustment, making it suitable for both photography and video. The lens features a programmable control ring, which can be set for easy control of a variety of camera and exposure settings. It also has a buttonless retractable body design, achieving a more compact form when not in use.
