Spirit-based mixture for gold leaf and RENESANS gilding

What is a spirit-based mixture?

This product is designed to adhere metal leaf in gilding projects. Several types of mixtures are available:

• Varnish-based - let it sit for about 12 hours before applying gold. Dilute by adding 20% turpentine.
• Spirit-based - particularly suitable for water-repellent surfaces. Gilding should begin after about 30 minutes. Dilute by adding 20% water.
• Water-based - suitable for less experienced users. Applying the gold can be done after about 1 hour, but before 12 hours from the coating with the mixture. Dilute by adding 20% water.

How to use

Before applying the mixture, the surface should be insulated with diluted paint and sanded after applying a thin layer of the mixture. Allow to dry until the mixture is tacky to the touch, then proceed with applying the gold leaf.
