Cooling

The Prime Radeon™ RX 9070 XT features a 2.5-slot design with a carefully positioned arrangement for the shroud, heatsink, and heat pipes, allowing the three Axial-tech fans to take advantage of side panel ventilation and provide optimal thermal performance.

Axial-tech Upgrades

Three proven Axial-tech fans feature a smaller hub that allows for longer blades and a barrier ring to increase downward air pressure for lower temperatures, less noise, and higher performance.

Dual Fan Bearings

The different types of bearings have unique advantages and disadvantages. Dual ball bearings excel in durability and can last up to twice as long as sleeve bearing designs.

MaxContact Design

MaxContact is a specialized manufacturing process by ASUS that effectively expands the surface area of the heat spreader located on top of the GPU by 5% compared to traditional designs. This improves temperatures by up to 2°C, in combination with an extended heatsink array and powerful Axial-tech fans.

Phase-Change GPU Thermal Pad

Melting to effectively fill the gaps between the GPU and the thermal unit, a premium phase-change GPU thermal pad provides superior thermal conductivity and improved heat dissipation, ensuring optimal performance and longevity for graphics cards under heavy loads.

0dB Technology

All three fans stop when the GPU temperature is below 55°C, allowing you to play less demanding games or perform light tasks in relative quiet. The fans start again when temperatures rise above 60°C, creating a speed curve that balances performance and acoustics for work or play.

Ventilated Backplate

The large air vents on the backplate significantly improve heat dissipation, helping to keep the GPU cooler during intense tasks. This additional airflow helps ensure optimal temperatures, enhancing performance, longevity, and stability, protecting against overheating and thermal throttling.

ASUS GPU Guard & Bracket

The ASUS GPU Guard applies adhesive to secure all four corners to reduce the risk of cracks, while a GPU bracket helps ensure even mounting pressure and additional stability.

Protective Backplate

The PCB board is reinforced by a backplate that adds structural rigidity, helping to prevent bending and protect the components and trace paths from damage.

Dual BIOS

Is your priority low core temperatures or low noise levels? The Performance mode allows the fans to spin more to keep the card running cool all the time, while the Quiet mode maintains the same power target and top settings, offering a less aggressive fan curve for quieter operation at moderate temperatures.

Auto-Extreme Technology

An automated manufacturing process that sets new standards in the industry, allowing all soldering to be completed in a single pass, ASUS Auto-Extreme technology reduces thermal stress on components and avoids the use of harsh cleaning chemicals, resulting in less environmental impact, lower energy consumption during manufacturing, and overall a more reliable product.

GPU Tweak III

GPU Tweak III now features a revamped interface that puts essential functions at the forefront, while the VF Tuner has been upgraded to make manual overclocking much easier. Meanwhile, exclusive features like 0dB fan technology are now enhanced by automatic profile switching and monitoring session logging. Additionally, you can now monitor more system statistics with the add-on and customize GT3 with the interface background and color options.

The purchase was made on 5/5/2025 and on 7/5/2025 the installation on the computer took place. I did a DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to remove the old drivers from the RX 480 I had, installed the new ones for the 9070 XT (it was 25.3.1 when I got it, now 25.5.1 is out). I started testing the games I play: PUBG, Far Cry 6, Counter-Strike 2, Dying Light 2, Genshin Impact, and GTA V Enhanced. All the games crashed and I can't play anything else, and my system experiences small lags (stutters) on the desktop or in Google Chrome, whereas with the RX 480 I never had this issue. I don't think it's my processor—I have an i5-14600KF—and I also tested the card in a system with a Ryzen 7 9800x3D, both systems have a 1000W bequiet! power supply. From what I read on several forums (Reddit, Techpower, and AMD's own support forum), it probably came from the factory with the wrong or improperly configured vBIOS. If you plan to get a card, get the Sapphire; it is the best implementation for AMD graphics cards. So far, abroad there are many cases with this issue (crashes and driver timeouts), mainly with ASUS, XFX, PowerColor cards. I haven't seen anything yet for Sapphire or Gigabyte.
