This concerns the dimensions of the LEDs on the strip. For example, an SMD 3528 strip has LEDs with a width of 3.5mm and a length of 2.8mm.

SMD2835

It is a 2.8mm wide and 3.5mm long led type. They are suitable for indoor lighting. The 2835s are brighter than the 3528s and can provide much more light.
