The square Yacca, located at the top of the Menglers hills, is an excellent example of the subregion in serious winemaking. This vineyard is just a 25-minute drive from the western ranges of the Barossa valley and is situated high on the slopes of the Eden valley, surrounded by ancient yucca palm trees.
The soil is a mix of quartz and iron, allowing for slow maturation, resulting in a very soft and elegant Shiraz. The wine has a deep, atmospheric purple to magenta color, with an exceptional nose revealing aromas of blackberries, lavender, dried cherries, fresh tobacco, leather, and freshly cut flowers.
On the palate, it presents a highly concentrated impression of fine and ripe dark and blue fruits. The wine is fleshy and dense with the flavor of fresh blackberry jam. It develops steadily in the glass, gradually revealing its incredibly rich yet elastic tannin structure.
The long finish leaves a pleasant and impressive sensation in the mouth. A wonderful wine that showcases the greatness of the Eden valley, overall a very complete wine, from start to finish.
