I simply have no words!!!
I was looking for a pair of headphones with which I could do meetings and my interlocutor could hear me clearly even in a noisy environment.
These particular headphones achieve that and more!!!
Tested in an office with a neighboring computer playing music at medium volume and right next to me someone else talking loudly on the phone. My interlocutor couldn't hear a thing!!!
Tested on a main road with traffic, a bus passing by, and people shouting—my interlocutor thought I was alone in an office!
I truly have no words!
Before settling on these, I did similar tests with the AirPods Pro 3 and I am happy to say that yes, these surpass them in ENC! With the AirPods, at the same voice volume, you could hear something in the background. With these, the interlocutor hears nothing!
As for the ANC, it is a bit (very slightly) lower, but I don't mind at all being able to hear someone calling you (loudly) without your interlocutor hearing it!
And of course, all this WITHOUT being in the company's ecosystem, 100 euros cheaper, and with the ability to connect to 2 devices simultaneously—Windows PC and Android phone.
There is no reason not to go for this beautiful product!

The sound is good, but the lack of an on-off switch makes them particularly inconvenient.

First, you have one earbud in your pocket and suddenly you hear speeches and realize that a Spotify podcast you were listening to a week ago has started playing, even though you haven't touched the Spotify app since then.

Second, you watch videos on YouTube or Facebook and the sound plays from the earbud even though you are not wearing it. If you want to hear the sound from your phone's speakers, you have to either put both earbuds back in the case (if you have it with you) or turn off Bluetooth on your phone (at the risk of missing the next call).

Third, you take one fully charged earbud from your pocket and leave for work. You don't use your phone at all and after 5 hours you decide to check the earbud's battery and it has dropped to 30% without any use.

I got the earbuds to replace a larger Plantronics headset, thinking that I would be able to take one earbud in my pocket and go about my day. Unfortunately, this scenario does not work with these earbuds. You always need to have the case with you.

Disclaimer: Here follows a lengthy review for tech freaks like me. For the rest, see the verdict a bit further down.

I got them in China for about 180 Euros.
I had read many reviews about the excellent quality of the microphones and speakers. I also have the freeclip from the same company, which I am very, very satisfied with (see my review on Skroutz for any comparison).

PROS
- Ear fit. They simply never fall out and you don't even notice them, at least in my ears. They come with 7 pairs of tips, 4 of which are silicone and the rest are memory foams. There is also a fit test control via the app. Kudos to Huawei.
- Sound is excellent. It's like listening to sound from expensive over-ear headphones, with an emphasis on detail. There are also 8 different sound presets via the app, for all tastes.
- Microphones, I believe the best on the market. They hear you clearly even if there is a lot of noise in the surrounding area.
- Multipoint connection. Works flawlessly without disconnections. There is also a setting via the app to prioritize devices.
- Supports Bluetooth 5.2 and Low audio latency for battery saving.
- Gestures. A lot of them (pinch, tap, pinch hold, swipe), but without many customizations via the app. The handling is very smooth and the pinch is on the stem, it takes a little getting used to until you find it.
- Head control. Very good, you can accept or reject calls by shaking your head.
- IP54 certification, so we don't worry if they get dusty or a few drops of water fall on them.
- Via the app, you can find them if they have fallen somewhere nearby, just press "find" and they emit a sharp sound.
- The case charges both wirelessly and can charge the buds several times.

CONS
- The app is Huawei's Al Life and is not available on the playstore (understandably). You have to download it in apk format.
- Battery life is about 5-6 hours, depending on noise control, but they charge in the case several times.
- Wear detection. I don't use it at all because it does something weird. For example, if you take them out and receive a call, they might start playing music from the other paired device and vice versa. Or if for some reason the music is playing and you're not wearing them, when you put them in your ears, the music stops, etc. However, I notice this with both the Sony xm5 and the Bose qcii as well.
- Noise control. Here there is a little issue because there are 3 modes (ANC, Off, Awareness). Depending on the mode we choose, the quality of the music changes as if there is a separate equalizer for each mode. I hope for some fix via updates.
- ANC. Not the best, I would say about the levels of the xm5 but not of the Bose qcii (3-year-old model). It has many customizations (dynamic, cozy, general, ultra), but to me, they all seem the same, meaning I don't notice any difference. However, it is slightly better if you use the memory foams instead of the silicone ones, because there is a little better passive noise cancellation that helps isolate external sounds.
- Awareness. Something like the transparent mode with voice mode on/off option. Relatively good, depending on the tips (silicone better transparency, memory foam slightly worse transparency).

VERDICT
There is a lot of high-end technology in these headphones and they are very well set up with an emphasis on excellent sound quality and the stellar microphones. The ear fit is excellent and they don't tire you at all.
They are beautiful with gold-tone finishes and give a premium feel.
The gestures are very practical and overall I am satisfied.
If they had slightly better ANC and a bit longer battery life, they would be top of the top. Hence the 4 stars, but if I had the option, I would give 4.5 out of 5.

Unrelated: If it weren't for the well-known ban, I would only have Huawei devices. The technology of this company is unmatched, and it seems that while other big companies (Apple, Samsung) instead of focusing on any innovation, are throwing money at useless AI trends.
No risks.
Huawei dares, and that's why I like it.

Well, connection with iPhone is instantaneous, similar to AirPods. At the same time, it can play on a second device with the switches happening relatively quickly. In terms of music, it is very good, far superior to AirPods and generally to many others I have tried, but I won't take a stance because it's subjective. As for speech, I can't even discuss it, it might be the best I have tried in any environment. Battery with daily use, charging the case every 4-5 or even 6 days. ANC is quite good, it didn't seem extremely impressive to me as many say. Impressive, for example, is the ANC that the AirPods 4 have without having tips.

HOWEVER, the Huawei app that has everything (except for Spatial Audio), even an equalizer, connects 1 in 3 or 4 times (on iPhone). Extremely annoying. Also, as strange as it sounds, it comes with 4 sizes of silicone tips and 3 memory foam. Damn, none of them fit well in my ears. All of them tire me and my ears hurt immediately. I don't have an unusual ear shape nor an allergy to the tips. For example, the OnePlus Buds 3 I have don't tire me at all even after many hours of use. In conclusion, I would suggest if you can, try them in your ears first and secondly if you have Android, the Huawei app will likely work better.

I don't have past experience with expensive in-ear headphones (only some more low-budget in-ear and some expensive Beats Audio over-ear), but for the past few days that I've been testing them with music at 44.1 Khz & 24 bit, in Teams meetings, and in calls, I find them amazing. I didn't expect to hear such detail in sound and range both in low and high frequencies (on a Pixel 4XL phone with Bluetooth 5.0). Regarding calls, I did some tests next to a TV at full volume and my kids shouting nearby, and my conversation partner could only hear me. I also tried a call with just one earbud in a normal environment, and again, they could hear me without any issues. I don't know how much the upgrade from the Pro 3 or from other manufacturers is worth, but I find them excellent for what I need so far!! Although the pre-installed ear tips fit perfectly, I also tried the memory foam ones, which seemed even more comfortable and relaxing in the ear. While you feel they are not too deep in the ear, they seem to be even more stable and have better passive ANC. The AI Life app seems fully featured for customization. It's incredibly convenient to answer or reject calls with a head gesture.

The headphones are very good. The main reason I got them was the very good sound quality of the microphone so that my conversation partner can hear me. I make calls and have meetings often, and sometimes I go to an outdoor space to work, like a café. With other (very good) headphones I had, when someone else spoke near you, their speech would come through the call. With the Huawei Freebuds Pro 4, my conversation partners tell me they don't hear anything, even in closed rooms full of people - like in a café.

Some more positives:
+ Very good sound for calls
+ It's incredibly convenient that you can answer the call with a head movement
+ When you answer the call, you apply pressure to the earbud, which acts like a physical button (not touch), which is very nice so you don't make a mistake.

The important negative:
I see that there is no location tracker for the case. So if it gets lost - something that is very likely for me - that's 200€. Of course, I say this with a caveat that it might have the feature and I might be mistaken (iPhone 12)
