The Insta360 Flow Pro 2 is one of the most technically interesting smartphone gimbals released in recent years because Insta360 has invested in two areas that until now were impossible to combine in such a small body: high torque on the axes and advanced AI tracking that actually works in real-world conditions. Over the past month, I’ve been using it with an iPhone, but the initial tests were done exclusively with an Android device, which is critical because traditionally gimbals perform better on iOS due to API and better access to camera controls. However, here the Flow Pro 2 shows that Insta360 has worked seriously on Android integration, both in terms of latency and app stability (though the app still needs improvements).
In terms of construction, the Flow Pro 2 retains the foldable design of the Flow series, but with a noticeably sturdier joint on the pan axis and improved weight distribution. The body remains light, around 350–360 grams, but the feel in the hand is more "tool" and less "gadget." Insta360 has reinforced the locking mechanism, which now no longer has micro-play, something that could cause minor instability during abrupt movements in the first Flow. The integrated selfie stick is stiffer and doesn’t bend easily, while the small tripod at the base opens more stably and can keep the gimbal upright even with larger smartphones.
In terms of stabilization, the Flow Pro 2 clearly shows that the algorithms have been rewritten. Its behavior on Android is impressively smooth, with no micro-jitters and no delays in axis response. The pan axis has a full 360-degree rotation, allowing for more cinematic movements and more natural following when the user changes direction abruptly. The gimbal’s payload easily covers all modern smartphones, from 130 to about 300 grams, without showing any strain. The torque on the axes is enough to keep even an Android phone with a case and a small external microphone stable, without showing drift or overshoot. The 360 Panorama Photo is amazing with proper stitching. Although it doesn’t have a true 360 inception mode, it does have what it calls the barrel shot, which performs a smaller movement; however, if you change the side the phone is facing, you can manually achieve a similar inception mode. The dolly zoom is also excellent, with smooth movement and easy to use.
Deep Track 4.0 is perhaps the most mature AI tracking system we’ve seen in a smartphone gimbal (except for Hohem, which is the teacher of them all and still the leader). Insta360 has invested in body, face (and group face), and object recognition, as well as target reacquisition when the user temporarily leaves the frame. On Android, where tracking is usually less stable due to third-party app limitations, the Flow Pro 2 manages to keep the subject centered in the frame with remarkable accuracy. Even in low light, tracking doesn’t easily lose the object, and the axis rotation speed dynamically adjusts to how fast the subject moves. This is something we don’t often see in gimbals of this category, where tracking is usually either too slow or too aggressive.
The separate test with the AI Tracking Module is perhaps the most interesting part of the Flow Pro 2, as it completely changes the way you use the gimbal. The module works autonomously, without needing the Insta360 app, which means you can have tracking in any Android app: camera, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Live, Zoom, Teams, anything. Unfortunately, on several Android devices, you can’t record/stop recording from the gimbal once you switch to another app. In my tests, the module showed excellent stability, with no disconnections and no delays in face recognition. The speed at which the gimbal follows the subject is practically the same as tracking within the app, which makes sense since the module has its own processor and doesn’t rely on the phone. For Android users, this is a huge advantage, as until now only iPhones had access to native tracking via DockKit. Here, Insta360 brings this feature to Android and does so in a way that really works. Note that the tracking module also has a built-in fill light. Whether with this or with AI Deep Track 4.0 via the app, gesture controls for tracking are fully supported.
In terms of comparison with DJI, the only DJI that can be considered a real competitor is the recent Osmo Mobile 8P, which has stronger axes and slightly better build quality (both are high-quality and sturdy builds). Nevertheless, the Flow Pro 2 remains more portable, smarter, and with more advanced AI tracking, especially when used with the AI Tracking Module.
As for Hohem, since I mentioned it above, the model corresponding to the Flow Pro 2’s category is the iSteady M6 or M5, depending on the market. These gimbals have good mechanical stabilization and decent tracking, but they don’t reach Insta360’s level in AI, software, or overall user experience. Hohem remains a more "mechanical" company, focusing on torque and less on system intelligence. The Flow Pro 2 is more premium, more complete, and easier to use—except for the Hohem M7, which is by far the best mobile gimbal in terms of functionality, power, and AI Tracking, but also heavier. I’ll do a separate review, but for those who want a truly powerful gimbal for heavy loads, there’s only one choice: Hohem M7. The M7 stands alone in the high-end category of smartphone gimbals, with a payload that allows the use of large smartphones, external lenses, microphones, lights, and cages. The M7’s axis torque is on another level and is intended for users who want to build a "cinematic" rig on a smartphone, and its construction allows it. The Flow Pro 2 is not intended for such use. It’s a tool for portability, ease, and AI tracking, not for heavy mechanical stabilization. For small to medium videos, TikTok, maybe for someone with a clothing store who’s tired of holding the phone or wants more freedom of movement and emphasis on poses, and of course for travel... where you want to move without much weight and with comfort.
In real-world use with Android, the Flow Pro 2 showed excellent connection stability, with no Bluetooth disconnections and no delays in camera controls. The zoom wheel has precise response, which is usually problematic on Android. The Insta360 app works stably, without crashes, and the auto mode correctly adapts the modes depending on how the user moves. The battery easily lasts 10 hours, making it ideal for travel and long shoots.
Where the gimbal "hurts," I’d say, is the Insta360 app itself. It’s heavy. On more modern phones, it has managed to crash or raise their temperature significantly. It’s a heavy app and poorly designed in many areas. This also affects gimbal management. Obviously, it has 4K resolution, etc., but many functions of the phone’s native camera are missing. It makes up for it with the modes, though. The app includes a kind of forum, store, social media section, album, editor, and management for both standard and 360 cameras, recently Luna, and of course the gimbal. Keep in mind that if you have the tracking module attached and open the app and use it for management, the app itself bypasses the tracking module and starts tracking via the app with Deep Track 4.0. As a fill light, it works normally if you want it.
There are 3 versions (packages) available, with 2 immediately available in our country on Skroutz and major stores:
1. The Standard version with a carrying pouch, charging cable, and magnetic phone clamp.
2. The Creator Kit version, which additionally includes a cable to charge your phone from the gimbal if you want, a Magsafe attachment that magnetically stays on your phone if compatible and can be left on even if you’re not using the gimbal, and also works as a phone stand, and finally the fill light.
3. On the official Insta360 store, there’s another version similar to the Creator Kit but includes the tracking module instead of the fill light.
Finally, I’d like to say that I have a particularly good relationship with DJI, and they often send me things to try. I’m overall extremely satisfied with DJI’s cooperation, so saying this, I believe the following will carry special weight for the average user. Insta360 listens. They may be slow to act, but they listen. At least personally, when I made some suggestions and they replied with the typical "we’ll forward it to the relevant department," after a few days or weeks, they would email me again to inform me, and once even to ask my opinion on an upcoming update. I think these are particularly positive signs; we’ll see how it goes in the future.
Extra tip: The suitcase-type case that Insta360 sells for about 30 euros is exactly the same as the one you can find from the East for 10–13 euros.
Overall, the Insta360 Flow Pro 2 is the most complete compact gimbal on the market for 2026, even for Android users. Stabilization is excellent, AI tracking is top-notch, the AI Tracking Module completely changes the way you use it, and portability remains unrivaled. It’s not a tool for heavy rigs, but it doesn’t try to be. It’s the tool you take everywhere, that opens and works in seconds, keeps the subject in the frame without you having to mess with settings, and delivers professional results without requiring professional experience.

Το Insta360 Flow Pro 2 είναι ένα από τα πιο τεχνικά ενδιαφέροντα smartphone gimbals που έχουν κυκλοφορήσει τα τελευταία χρόνια επειδή η Insta360 έχει επενδύσει σε δύο τομείς που μέχρι σήμερα ήταν αδύνατο να συνδυαστούν σε ένα τόσο μικρό σώμα: υψηλή ροπή στους άξονες και εξελιγμένο AI tracking που λειτουργεί πραγματικά σε πραγματικές συνθήκες. H χρήση τον τελευταίο μήνα γίνεται με iphone αλλά οι αρχικές δοκιμές έγιναν αποκλειστικά με Android συσκευή, κάτι που είναι κρίσιμο, γιατί παραδοσιακά τα gimbals αποδίδουν καλύτερα σε iOS λόγω API και καλύτερης πρόσβασης στα camera controls. Εδώ όμως το Flow Pro 2 δείχνει ότι η Insta360 έχει δουλέψει σοβαρά πάνω στο Android integration, τόσο σε επίπεδο latency όσο και σε επίπεδο σταθερότητας της εφαρμογής (αν και η εφαρμογή θέλει ακόμα βελτιώσεις).
Από πλευράς κατασκευής, το Flow Pro 2 διατηρεί το αναδιπλούμενο design της σειράς Flow, αλλά με εμφανώς πιο στιβαρή άρθρωση στον pan άξονα και με βελτιωμένη κατανομή βάρους. Το σώμα παραμένει ελαφρύ, περίπου στα 350–360 γραμμάρια, αλλά η αίσθηση στο χέρι είναι πιο “εργαλείο” και λιγότερο “gadget”. Η Insta360 έχει ενισχύσει τον μηχανισμό κλειδώματος, ο οποίος πλέον δεν παρουσιάζει μικρο-τζόγους, κάτι που στο πρώτο Flow μπορούσε να δημιουργήσει μικρές αστάθειες σε απότομες κινήσεις. Το ενσωματωμένο selfie stick έχει καλύτερη ακαμψία και δεν λυγίζει εύκολα, ενώ το μικρό τρίποδο στη βάση ανοίγει πιο σταθερά και μπορεί να κρατήσει το gimbal όρθιο ακόμη και με μεγαλύτερα smartphones.
Σε επίπεδο σταθεροποίησης, το Flow Pro 2 δείχνει ξεκάθαρα ότι οι αλγόριθμοι έχουν ξαναγραφτεί. Η συμπεριφορά του σε Android είναι εντυπωσιακά ομαλή, χωρίς micro‑jitters και χωρίς καθυστερήσεις στην απόκριση των αξόνων. Το dolly zoom είναι εξαιρετικό επίσης, με ομαλή κίνηση και εύκολο στη χρήση.
Το Deep Track 4.0 είναι ίσως το πιο ώριμο σύστημα AI tracking που έχουμε δει σε smartphone gimbal (εκτός από την Hohem που είναι ο δάσκαλος όλων τους και μέχρι σήμερα ο αρχηγός). Η Insta360 έχει επενδύσει σε αναγνώριση σώματος, προσώπου (και ομάδας προσώπων), αντικειμένων και επανασύλληψη στόχου όταν ο χρήστης βγαίνει προσωρινά από το κάδρο. Σε Android, όπου συνήθως το tracking είναι πιο ασταθές λόγω περιορισμών των third‑party apps, το Flow Pro 2 καταφέρνει να κρατήσει το θέμα στο κέντρο του κάδρου με αξιοσημείωτη ακρίβεια. Ακόμη και σε χαμηλό φωτισμό, το tracking δεν χάνει εύκολα το αντικείμενο, ενώ η ταχύτητα περιστροφής των αξόνων προσαρμόζεται δυναμικά ανάλογα με το πόσο γρήγορα κινείται το θέμα. Αυτό είναι κάτι που δεν βλέπουμε συχνά σε gimbals αυτής της κατηγορίας, όπου συνήθως το tracking είναι είτε υπερβολικά αργό είτε υπερβολικά επιθετικό.
Η ξεχωριστή δοκιμή με το AI Tracking Module είναι ίσως το πιο ενδιαφέρον κομμάτι του Flow Pro 2, γιατί αλλάζει εντελώς τον τρόπο χρήσης του gimbal. Το module λειτουργεί αυτόνομα, χωρίς να χρειάζεται η εφαρμογή της Insta360, και αυτό σημαίνει ότι μπορείς να έχεις tracking σε οποιαδήποτε εφαρμογή Android: κάμερα, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Live, Zoom, Teams, οτιδήποτε, δυστυχώς όμως σε αρκετές android συσκευές δε μπορείς να κάνεις record/ stop record από το gimbal, μόλις μπεις σε άλλο app. Στις δοκιμές μου, το module έδειξε εξαιρετική σταθερότητα, χωρίς αποσυνδέσεις και χωρίς καθυστερήσεις στην αναγνώριση του προσώπου. Η ταχύτητα με την οποία το gimbal ακολουθεί το θέμα είναι πρακτικά ίδια με το tracking μέσα στην εφαρμογή, λογικό αφού το module έχει δικό του επεξεργαστή και δεν βασίζεται στο κινητό. Για Android χρήστες, αυτό είναι τεράστιο πλεονέκτημα, γιατί μέχρι σήμερα μόνο τα iPhone είχαν πρόσβαση σε native tracking μέσω DockKit. Εδώ η Insta360 φέρνει αυτή τη λειτουργία σε Android και το κάνει με τρόπο που πραγματικά δουλεύει. Να σημειώσω ότι το tracking module έχει και ενσωμνατωμένο fill light. Είτε με αυτό είτε με το AI Deep Track 4.0 μέσω app, υποστηρίζονται κανονικά τα gesture controls για tracking.
Σε επίπεδο σύγκρισης με DJI, το μόνο DJI που μπορεί να θεωρηθεί πραγματικός ανταγωνιστής είναι το πρόσφατο Osmo Mobile 8P, το οποίο έχει πιο ισχυρούς άξονες και ελαφρώς καλύτερη ποιότητα κατασκευής (και τα 2 είναι ποιοτικότατη και στιβαρή κατασκευή). Παρ’ όλα αυτά, το Flow Pro 2 παραμένει πιο φορητό, πιο έξυπνο και με πιο εξελιγμένο AI tracking, ειδικά όταν χρησιμοποιείται με το AI Tracking Module.
Όσον αφορά τη Hohem μιας και την ανέφερα πιο πάνω, το μοντέλο που αντιστοιχεί στην κατηγορία του Flow Pro 2 είναι το iSteady M6 ή M5, ανάλογα την αγορά. Αυτά τα gimbals έχουν καλή μηχανική σταθεροποίηση και αξιοπρεπές tracking, αλλά δεν φτάνουν το επίπεδο της Insta360 σε AI, σε software και σε συνολική εμπειρία χρήσης. Η Hohem παραμένει πιο “μηχανική” εταιρεία, με έμφαση στη ροπή και λιγότερο στην ευφυΐα του συστήματος. Θα κάνω ξεχωριστή αξιολόγηση αλλά για όσους θέλουν πραγματικά δυνατό gimbal για βαριά φορτία, η επιλογή είναι μία: Hohem M7. Το M7 παίζει μόνο του στην high‑end κατηγορία των smartphone gimbals, με payload που επιτρέπει τη χρήση μεγάλων smartphones, εξωτερικών φακών, μικροφώνων, φωτιστικών και cages. Η ροπή των αξόνων του M7 είναι σε άλλο επίπεδο και προορίζεται για χρήστες που θέλουν να στήσουν “κινηματογραφικό” rig πάνω σε smartphone και η κατασκευή του το επιτρέπει Το Flow Pro 2 δεν προορίζεται για τέτοια χρήση. Είναι εργαλείο φορητότητας, ευκολίας και AI tracking, όχι εργαλείο βαριάς μηχανικής σταθεροποίησης. Για μικρά προς μεσαία βίντεο, τικ τοκ, ίσως για κάποιον που έχει κατάστημα ενδυμάτων και βαρέθηκε να κρατάει το κινητό ή θέλει μεγαλύτερη ελευθερία στις κινήσεις και έμφαση σε πόζες και φυσικά για ταξίδια... όπου θες να κινηθείς χωρίς πολύ βάρος και με άνεση.
Σε πραγματικές συνθήκες χρήσης με Android, το Flow Pro 2 έδειξε εξαιρετική σταθερότητα στη σύνδεση, χωρίς αποσυνδέσεις Bluetooth και χωρίς καθυστερήσεις στα camera controls. Το zoom wheel έχει ακριβή απόκριση, κάτι που σε Android συνήθως είναι προβληματικό. Η εφαρμογή Insta360 λειτουργεί σταθερά, χωρίς crashes, και το auto mode προσαρμόζει σωστά τα modes ανάλογα με το πώς κινείται ο χρήστης. Η μπαταρία φτάνει άνετα τις 10 ώρες, κάτι που το καθιστά ιδανικό για ταξίδια και πολύωρα γυρίσματα.
Εκεί που "πονάει" θα έλεγα το gimbal, είναι η ίδια η εφαρμογή της Insta360. Είναι βαριά. Σε πιο σύγχρονα κινητά έχει καταφέρει να κρασάρει ή να ανεβάζει εξαιρετικά τη θερμοκρασία τους. Είναι βαριά εφαρμογή και σε πολλά σημεία κακοδουλεμένη. Αυτό επηρεάζει και τη διαχείριση του gimbal. Προφανώς έχει ανάλυση 4Κ κλπ κλπ, αλλά πολλές λειτουργίες της κανονικής κάμερας του κινητού δε τις έχει. Αποζημιώνει με τα modes βέβαια. Σε ένα app έχουν χωρέσει ένα υπο τύπο forum, κατάστημα, social media section, album, editor και διαχείριση για τις απλες και τις 360 κάμερες, προσφάτως τη Luna και το φυσικά το gimbal. Καλό είναι να έχετε υπόψιν πως αν έχετε πάνω το tracking module και ανοίξετε την εφαρμογή και χρησιμοποιείτε αυτη για τη διαχείριση του, η ίδια η εφαρμογή παρακάμπτει το tracking module και ξεκινάει το tracking μέσω του app με το Deep Track 4.0. Σαν fill light λειτουργεί κανονικά αν το θέλετε.
Κυκλοφορούν 3 εκδόσεις (πακέτα) με τα 2 να τα βρίσκεις και στη χώρα μας και μάλιστα άμεσα διαθέσιμα σε Skroutz και μεγάλα καταστήματα.
1. Η Standart version έκδοση με πουγκί μεταφοράς, καλώδιο φόρτισης, και το μαγνητικό phone clamp.
2. H Creator Kit version που επιπλέον έχει μέσα καλώδιο ώστε να φορτίζεις το κινητό από το gimbal αν θες, ένα Magsafe attachment που μένει μαγνητικά στο κινητό σου αν είναι συμβατό και μπορείς να το έχεις μόνιμα πάνω ακόμα και αν δε χρησιμοποιείς το gimbal και μάλιστα λειτουργεί και σαν phone stand και τέλος το fill light.
3. Στο επίσημο κατάστημα της insta360 παίζει και ακόμα μία έκδοση ίδια με την Creator Kit που περιλαμβάνει όμως το tracking module αντί του fill light.
Τελος, θα ήθελα να πω πως έχω ιδιαίτερα καλή σχέση με την DJI και μάλιστα συχνά μου στέλνουν κάτι να δοκιμάσω. Με τη DJI είμαι υπερευχαριστημένος συνολικά από τη συνεργασία, οπότε λέγοντας αυτό πιστεύω ότι το παρακάτω θα έχει ιδιαίτερο βάρος για τον απλό χρήστη. Η Insta360 ακούει. Μπορεί να αργεί να κάνει κάτι, αλλά ακούει. Προσωπικά τουλάχιστον όταν έκανα κάποιες προτάσεις και απάντησαν το τυπικό "θα το προωθήσουμε στο αρμόδιο τμήμα" , μετά από λίγες μέρες ή εβδομάδες έστελναν εκ νέου email εκείνοι για να με ενημερώσουν και μάλιστα μία φορά για να ρωτήσουν τη γνώμη μου σε επικείμενη ενημέρωση. Αυτά είναι πιστεύω ιδιαίτερα θετικά δείγματα, μένει να δούμε πως θα πάει στο μέλλον.
extra tip: Η θήκη τύπου βαλιτσάκι που πουλάει περί τα 30 ευρώ η Insta360, είναι ακριβώς η ίδια με αυτή που θα βρει κάποιος εξ ανατολών με 10-13 ευρώ.
Συνολικά, το Insta360 Flow Pro 2 είναι το πιο ολοκληρωμένο compact gimbal της αγοράς για το 2026, ακόμα και για Android χρήστες. Η σταθεροποίηση είναι άριστη, το AI tracking είναι κορυφαίο, το AI Tracking Module αλλάζει εντελώς τον τρόπο χρήσης και η φορητότητα παραμένει ασυναγώνιστη. Δεν είναι εργαλείο για βαριά rigs, αλλά δεν προσπαθεί να είναι. Είναι το εργαλείο που παίρνεις μαζί σου παντού, που ανοίγει και δουλεύει σε δευτερόλεπτα, που κρατάει το θέμα στο κάδρο χωρίς να χρειάζεται να ασχοληθείς με ρυθμίσεις και που προσφέρει επαγγελματικό αποτέλεσμα χωρίς να απαιτεί επαγγελματική εμπειρία.
