Touhou Spell Carnival is an officially recognized derivative work based on the Touhou project.

Gensokyo - A land cut off from the outside world, where humans and youkai live side by side.

One day, the priestess of the Hakurei shrine, Reimu Hakurei, notices mysterious pillars rising in various parts of Gensokyo.

These pillars marked the beginning of the Spell Carnival, a festival hosted by Yukari Yakumo, where they must bring their spell cards to battle.

To investigate the true intentions of Yukari Yakumo, Reimu Hakurei joins the battle for the Spell Books.
