Rain... the eternal, endless rain. In Piova, the city of music and endless rain, young men and women gather to pursue their dream of becoming musicians.
Chris Vertin is one of these young people, leaving behind his rural hometown and his girlfriend to enroll in Piova's Municipal School of Music.
In the winter, it has been over two years since Chris began his studies to become a Fortenist, master of the magical instrument known as the Fortelle.
Graduation is just a few months away, and Chris must perform an original piece with a vocal partner for his final exam.
But Chris, feeling disheartened and spending his days idly, hasn't even tried to find a partner.
His entire world consists of the letters he receives from his girlfriend and a 14 cm tall music fairy that resides in his room.
