"New Souvenir 1" is an educational and methodological complex that includes a textbook, a workbook, a guidebook, and additional materials (audio recordings, video clips, vocabulary lists, flashcards), access to which is provided through the author's website. This course is aimed at adult learners who are just beginning to study the Russian language. Upon completion of the course, students will achieve a basic level of proficiency in Russian as a foreign language (A1).

The textbook consists of 10 sections, each containing 4 lessons, where every fourth lesson includes an interim assessment in the form of a lexical-grammatical test and work with the test. There are interim and final tests in the middle and at the end of the textbook. Thus, at least 45 lessons of 90 minutes each are required to complete the course.
