It comes with exquisite British paper, carefully selected for use with fountain pens, ensuring minimal "feathering," it's sufficiently opaque, and has minimal transparency. This premium quality woven paper is equally suitable for pencil sketching, thanks to its thick "rough" surface. Each notebook is made from durable Spanish bovine leather, which is vegetable-tanned (more environmentally friendly), hand-dyed, cut, and polished here in Stamford, for an amazing finish every time. Leather ribbons complete the look, providing a striking closure to the embossed leather button on the cover. Each Traveller's Journal comes in a beautiful, practical handmade canvas bag with a drawstring. All bags are made in Stamford. All Stamford Notebooks are handmade in the workshop in Stamford by skilled artisans using techniques of centuries and modern equipment – executing all production processes, including printing the paper, folding, stitching, cutting, making aids, and attaching the covers. This extends to the leather products as well, where we cut, dye, sew, and finish all leather products by hand.
