This is a new, augmented edition of one of the most popular Russian language manuals for foreigners. It belongs to the Survival Russian learning system but can also be used independently.

The purpose of the manual is to teach listening: understanding spoken Russian in person. For this reason, the author offers the entire training system. Spoken speech is initially presented in the form of separate phrases with different types of Russian intonation, then in the form of dialogues (dialogical speech), and then in the form of texts (monological speech), allowing for maximum efficiency in training.

The manual includes 16 lessons covering the most relevant communication topics. The main rule in selecting the material is its communicative dimension. A feature of the manual is the presence of basic information about Russian intonation and exercises in which you can observe the semantic and distinct role of intonation in the Russian language.
