It is one of the processors I have used. It has cores, it has threads, it has cache memory, it works. It falls short in multitasking against the Ryzen 7 and Ryzen 9, as well as a bit in gaming compared to the non-X versions, while the X3D versions are by far faster in high-FPS gaming performance. I was interested in moving to AMD because I consider them the most reliable x86 processors, latest generation, so that their instruction sets will be supported for more years; for gaming at 30-60fps it does the job at less than half the price of the more powerful AMD CPUs of this generation. It is worth mentioning that I do not need to go to an expensive motherboard to take advantage of all the capabilities of a mid-range processor, and it runs cooler than its higher-end counterparts. I am deducting two stars because of the performance as I mentioned above, the combination of the motherboard and CPU pins is extremely sensitive, motherboards with damaged pins come quite often, it happened to me too with a motherboard where some pins arrived already broken and an RMA was needed, I would like this platform design to change, it works just fine with 6000mhz RAM, when it advertises limits of up to 5600mhz it scares many users and they run their RAM at slower speeds than they can, and it does not inspire confidence regarding warranty preservation for those who take advantage of the extra performance, the integrated graphics are very slow, nothing like an APU such as Ryzen AI, I only use them as a backup if something happens to my graphics card, in power consumption and temperatures it is by far better than its predecessor, the 7600X, but the improvement in performance is negligible, depending on the prices the latest generation CPU may not be worth it.
Combination with 32GB 6000 CL30 memory and a 9060XT 16GB Nitro Plus, excellent performance! And I’m not only referring to games (1440p, everything on high), but also to applications such as SAP (database), etc. for professional use.
The processor does a good job.
Excellent processor for gaming and Photoshop. Works perfectly with DDR5 RAM and RX7600XT GPU. In its price range, there is nothing better at the moment.
Don't be fooled by the "Ryzen 5" in the name, the 9600X is a real "beast" that stands up to much more expensive models. It offers perfect price/performance, making it the ideal heart for any high-end gaming system you build today.
The best Ryzen 5 6-core processor guys...after this you go for Ryzen 7 or 9 with different prices...guys if you're thinking of getting it, you're making the right choice...it's all-powerful even without a graphics card...I ran it without a GPU at first and it still performed great even in games...I recommend it
The processor has no competition for its price, even though it is 6-core. It also has a BIOS setting to increase the TDP from 65w to 115w, which gives you a 10-20% performance boost (both multicore and single core). It's summer and with 30 degrees outside I reach a max of 67°C (at 65w) and 77°C (at 115w) (I have liquid cooling). For single core performance, it competes with Ryzen 7 of the same generation. Overall, very value for money. I run it without a graphics card and play LoL on a 2K monitor at 60fps, very good.
Value for money. The only bad thing is generally the formation of AM5 which makes it difficult to properly use thermal paste. Spec wise it is pure value
Value for money.
With this particular processor, I replaced the incredible i9-9900K, which still had a lot to give, but this choice was made purely for the purpose of transitioning to a new socket (AM5) since I could still sell it along with the motherboard and RAM (1151). I bought it as soon as it was released for about €280; I didn't have the time to wait for prices to drop, and to be honest, it seemed a bit expensive then. Now, with its price close to €200, it's VFM. In terms of temperatures, it performs well—not above 65°C - 70°C in Battlefield 2042 with almost everything on ultra at 3440x1440 144Hz, cooled by a Corsair iCUE Link Titan 240 RX RGB AIO, and the measurement I'm giving you is in June with the house temperature at 25+°C. Although it's very powerful and only 65W, I haven't noticed a crazy difference from the i9-9900K because that is also a very powerful processor. The system generally runs very smoothly with an MSI B650 Tomahawk WiFi, and I haven't encountered any problems anywhere. I have not regretted this change. My next move is to replace the RTX 3070 Gaming OC with an RX 9070 XT, which will be the ultimate combination, and I will see its true capabilities. Now, it's needless to mention that the CPU drives the GPU at 100% while it runs at 55-75%.
Previously, with my 5600X processor, I was extremely happy with my MSI B550. Now, with the 9600X, I’m extremely happy; I didn’t expect such a big difference in anything I do. In a multicore stress test with CPU-Z, it reaches 85°C with a Be Quiet Pure Rock 2 FX cooler. In World of Tanks at ultra graphics, 1080p, it maintains 144 FPS—that is, the limit I set for my monitor’s frame rate. If I remove the limit, it goes up to 270+ FPS, with a Gigabyte Radeon RX 6700 XT 12GB graphics card, G.Skill Ripjaws S5 32GB DDR5 at 5600 MT/s CL28, and an MSI B650 Gaming Plus WiFi motherboard. When checking temperatures while playing World of Tanks at ultra graphics, the temperature doesn’t rise above 62°C. No problems for three months now. On May 12, 2025, I installed a second fan on the underside of the cooler and changed the thermal paste. I had MX-4 and now I’ve applied Arctic MX-6; the maximum temperature is now 70 to 72°C in a multicore stress test with CPU-Z. On October 11, 2026, I changed the graphics card to an RX 9070, installed a Be Quiet Pure Rock Pro 3 cooler, and got a 27" 1440p 165Hz monitor. It still manages to maintain 165 FPS effortlessly, with an average temperature of 62°C, while the graphics card is maxed out at 100%.
Προηγουμένως επεξεργαστής μου 5600Χ υπερ ευχαριστημένος με MSI B550, τώρα με τον 9600Χ υπερ ευχαριστημένος δεν περίμενα τόσο μεγάλη διαφορά σε ότι κι αν κάνω, σε stress test multicore με το CPU Z 85 βαθμούς κελσίου με ψυκτρα την Be Quiet Pure Rock 2 FX, σε game World of Tanks ultra graphics στα 1080p 144 FPS ακατέβατα δηλαδή εκεί που έχω βάλει τον κοφτή στα καρέ της οθόνης, αν βγάλω τον κοφτή πάει στα 270+ FPS με κάρτα γραφικών Gigabyte Radeon RX 6700 XT 12GB, G.Skill Ripjaws S5 32GB DDR5 στα 5600 MT/s CL28 και μητρική MSI B650 Gaming Plus WiFi.

Powerful processor for office work and gaming. It was paired with a Gigabyte B650 Eagle AX Wi-Fi, RTX 5060ti, Patriot Viper Venom DDR5 32GB (2x16GB) 6000 MT/s, Samsung 980pro and works flawlessly and very stably without crashes and other problems. After 2 months of use, no complaints, all games run fast and smoothly
For the money, it's flawless. The purchase was made with Corsair Vengeance DDR5 16GB RAM with 2x8GB modules and a speed of 5200 for desktop, MSI B850 Gaming Plus Wifi6E Motherboard ATX with AMD AM5 Socket 7E80-001R, simply perfect
