Each player receives a set of eight different blocks in their color. At the beginning of each round, players reveal a new card and then must form the figure indicated by the card using the appropriate blocks, in such a way that exactly two layers are completed. The player who forms it first shouts "Ubongo," flips the hourglass, and the remaining players have one minute to place their blocks. For the shapes players place, they earn valuable gems. The winner is the player who collects the most valuable gems after nine rounds.
